As the pace of mergers, acquisitions and trade sales steps up again, the Group’s recent launch of the first SME focused Valuation Index is rapidly coming into its own.

Simon Blake, Chairman of the Group’s Corporate Finance Panel, explains the value of the index:

‘What the UK200Group’s SME Valuation Index provides is a database that gives us the average price/earnings multiple applicable to the sale of businesses in the SME sector, based on actual deals the Group’s corporate finance specialists have advised on’.

The details of deals done are provided by the Corporate Finance Panel’s independent specialists working within UK200Group member firms of accountants and lawyers throughout the UK specialising in the SME sector. It helps to facilitate comparison not available from published data and therefore gives member firms a unique insight into the market.
